Installation Steps

Download the Installer

Click the download button above to get the Infinity Launcher installer. Save it anywhere on your computer.

Run the Installer

Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen prompts. If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning, click “More info” then “Run anyway” — the launcher is safe.

Choose Your Install Location

Select where you want SWG Infinity installed. We recommend a location outside of Program Files (e.g., C:\Games\SWGInfinity) to avoid permission issues.

Let It Patch

The launcher will download approximately 8–10 GB of game data. This is a one-time process — future updates are small incremental patches. Downloads are resumable if interrupted.

Play

Once patching completes, click Play. Log in with your SWG Infinity account and you are in.

Troubleshooting

Running into issues? Check these common solutions first.

Some antivirus software may flag the launcher as a false positive because it downloads and modifies game files. To resolve this:

Add the Infinity Launcher installation folder to your antivirus exclusion list
Temporarily disable real-time protection during installation, then re-enable it
If using Windows Defender, add an exclusion via Settings → Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings → Exclusions

The Infinity Launcher may require the .NET Desktop Runtime or Visual C++ Redistributable. If prompted:

Download and install the latest .NET Desktop Runtime from Microsoft
Install the latest Visual C++ Redistributable (x64)
Restart your computer after installing, then try the launcher again

If the game fails to start after patching completes, try these steps:

Run as Administrator: Right-click the launcher and select “Run as administrator”
Verify files: Use the launcher’s built-in verify/repair feature to check for corrupted or missing files
Check install path: Make sure the game is not installed in a protected directory like Program Files
Disable overlays: Discord overlay, GeForce Experience, and similar tools can sometimes conflict with SWG. Try disabling them
Compatibility mode: Right-click the SWG executable, go to Properties → Compatibility, and try running in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode
