About The Warren

The Warren is a semi-instanced dungeon located on Dantooine at coordinates -586, -2300, near the ruins of an old Imperial research outpost south of the Dantooine Mining Outpost. Once a functioning facility, the Warren was overrun by Gurrecks — aggressive predatory creatures native to Dantooine — after the staff were slaughtered during a containment breach. Only scattered survivor logs remain to tell the story.

Rated Medium difficulty, The Warren is widely regarded as the best introductory dungeon for players looking to move from solo mission content into group PvE. The encounters are manageable, the layout is linear, and the quest rewards are genuinely useful for mid-tier characters. Expect encounters ranging from standard Gurreck packs to elite named variants and a final boss encounter deep inside the facility.

Location: Dantooine (-586, -2300) • Difficulty: Medium • Recommended Level: 80–120 • Group Size: 3–5 players

Getting Started

The Warren quest chain is initiated by speaking to Gable Hastur at the Dantooine Mining Outpost. He has been trying to understand what happened inside the facility and needs a capable group of adventurers to investigate.

1

Speak to Gable Hastur

Find Gable Hastur at the Dantooine Mining Outpost. He will brief you on the situation: the Warren facility went silent weeks ago and he fears the worst. Accept his initial reconnaissance contract to begin the chain.

2

Exterior Recon — Clear the Entrance

Before you can enter the facility proper, Gurreck packs guard the exterior approach. Clear the mobs within the marked radius and return to Gable. He will grant you the access code for the inner door.

3

Retrieve Research Logs

Inside the first section of the Warren, locate and retrieve three scattered research data discs from the facility terminals. Elite Gurreck variants begin appearing here. Read the logs — they hint at what happened and point you deeper inside.

4

Hunt Named Gurreck Mobs

Gable identifies three named Gurreck pack leaders that must be eliminated before the deepest section of the facility unseals. Track them through the mid-section of the Warren. Each drops a unique Warren component upon death.

5

Confront Stark — Final Encounter

The final locked chamber unseals once all named mobs are down. Stark, the Warren’s apex Gurreck, awaits in the deepest room. Defeat Stark to complete the quest chain, claim the unique Warren loot, and earn the dungeon completion badge.

Named Mobs & Bosses

The Warren contains several named Gurreck encounters before the final boss. Learn their patterns before diving in.

The Gurreck Matriarch

First named encounter in the mid-section. The Matriarch summons additional Gurreck adds every 30 seconds. Prioritise killing adds before focusing her down, or the group will be overwhelmed quickly. Drops a Warren Claw component.

Scar-Hide Ruffian

A battle-scarred veteran Gurreck lurking in the maintenance tunnels. Higher HAM than standard mobs, hits hard, and has an enrage mechanic at 20% health that significantly increases its damage output. Drops a Warren Hide component.

🔥

Stark (Final Boss)

The Warren’s apex predator. Stark is the largest Gurreck in the facility and occupies the sealed final chamber. He has a knockdown attack, a bleeding DoT, and will rage if the fight lasts beyond two minutes. Drops the unique Warren Fang Bracer and the highest credit reward from any mob in the dungeon.

Loot & Rewards

The Warren offers a solid range of rewards for a mid-tier dungeon, making it worth repeated runs even after completing the quest chain.

Faction Points

Completing the Warren rewards both Imperial and Rebel faction points regardless of your alignment, making it useful for players building faction standing in either direction.

Warren Armor Components

Named Gurreck mobs drop unique Warren armor components (Claw, Hide, Fang) that can be taken to an Armorsmith to craft the partial Warren Scout Set — a solid mid-game armor option.

Dungeon Badge

First-time completion awards the Warren Delver badge. Badge collectors will want to ensure the full quest chain is completed before killing Stark, as the badge triggers on quest turn-in, not on the kill itself.

Survival Tips

Bring a Doctor or Combat Medic

Gurreck mobs inflict frequent wound damage across your group. A dedicated healer with full Doctor buffs applied before entry will dramatically reduce downtime between pulls. If you cannot bring a healer, stock up on stimpacks and wound packs at a Medic terminal in town.

Clear Room by Room

The Warren is a tight, corridor-heavy facility. Never pull ahead of your group and always clear a room fully before advancing. Pulling additional packs into an active fight is the most common cause of group wipes here.

Optimal Group Composition

Three to five players is the sweet spot. You need at minimum: one heavy melee or Defender to hold threat, one Medic or Doctor for heals, and one to two DPS. A Creature Handler with a strong pet is a viable substitute for a melee tank at this tier.

Get Buffed Before You Enter

Visit an Entertainer and Doctor in Dantooine Mining Outpost before heading to the Warren. Combat buffs and mind buffs together can push your effective combat performance up significantly. Do not skip this step — the difference is substantial.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Warren is designed for characters in the level 80–120 range. Below that, standard Gurreck mobs will pose a serious threat and named encounters may be unmanageable. If you are in this level range with a solid group, you will find the difficulty fair and rewarding. Characters above 120 can largely trivialise the dungeon, though the loot and badge are still worth the trip.

Soloing The Warren is possible at higher mastery levels (Master-tier characters) with elite Doctor buffs and a very strong template, but it is not recommended for normal progression. The dungeon’s value is the group experience and the named mob drops, which require sustained DPS to reliably secure. Stark’s enrage timer in particular makes solo attempts difficult without top-tier gear.

The full story quest chain from Gable Hastur does not reset — once completed it is marked done permanently. However, the dungeon itself remains accessible and the named mobs respawn on their standard timers. You can return for loot farming and to help guildmates through the chain without being able to redo the quest objectives yourself. The badge is awarded once per character.

Gable Hastur stands near the outpost’s supply depot on the southern edge of the Dantooine Mining Outpost. He wears standard colonist clothing and carries a datapad. If you have trouble locating him, use the /target Gable Hastur command and click the target ring to navigate to him.
